Judo Instructor and Camp Facilitator
Andrey teaches Judo at the Atomic Learners. He trained in France and in the US, earning his black belt in Judo from USJA in 2017. Andrey became a nationally licensed coach with USJA in 2019 and gained experience in teaching judo to kids in Santa Fe, NM. As a competitor, Andrey won multiple state and national level tournaments and fought judo world medalist in a professional match. Andrey is also passionate about brazilian jiu-jitsu, where he holds a purple belt under prof. Robert Romero. He also served as an ice hockey assistant coach in Los Alamos. Outside of the mats, Andrey is a scientist with Ph.D. in theoretical physics receiving national level awards for his research. At the day camp, Andrey is leading judo, math kangaroo, and chess club activities.
